Description

In between the much-despised Usurer (or Money Lender) and the prestigious merchant banker, the Money Changer will flourish by converting the money of foreign merchants into the local currency. With some 'arrangements', he could also provide a bonus (in effect, an interest rate) if you deposited some Money, or allow a trader to deposit his wealth in a place and still miraculously use it in another place! In doing these activities, he exposed himself to the wrath of the religious authorities though, always on the lookout for people committing the sin of greed.
