Description
The medieval Courthouse wields the king's authority. Comprised of nobles with a sound knowledge of the kingdom's laws, it oversees legal proceedings, ensuring justice for all. The Courthouse hears the pleas of both highborn and commoners, although sentencing may differ based on social class. As a last resort, the victim can call upon a duel or other form of trial that employs the force of arms.
Judges at the Courthouse might be tempted by some bribes if there's an abundance of wealth in the region, which would certainly reduce their fairness and the quality of justice delivered.
