Description

Surface Gold Mining is a method used to extract gold from shallow alluvial or near-surface deposits, when deeper gold mines are not available or viable. These deposits are generally dispersed and of limited concentration, requiring sustained manual effort to yield modest but steady returns. In some regions, however, such surface exploitation may represent the only accessible source of gold. This method is extremely labor-intensive and places a significant strain on the local population, yet it demands little in the way of infrastructure, relying mainly on manpower and simple tools such as pans, shovels, and sluices. The building requires an adjacent river.
