3PietyJob Kind Religious
This World Wonder generates significant Piety and Legacy, and will provide a modifier that is contextual to the regional circumstances, if Christian only (EVENT). The Hagia Sophia, over five centuries since its completion in 537 C.E, remains recognized as the world's most impressive cathedral in the XIth century. A testament to Byzantine architecture, its construction was a Herculean endeavor commissioned by Emperor Justinian. The empire's artistic ambition (and architectural superiority) is evident in its huge distinctive dome, ingeniously supported by a solid network of pendentives and semi-domes. Inside, the expansive nave is adorned with detailed mosaics and marble pillars, standing as a monument to Byzantine craftsmanship. In term of physical footprint, only the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt rivaled the Hagia Sophia.
