2PietyJob Kind Religious
An evolution of a Monastery, the Abbey (from abba, Aramean word for 'father') often houses a large community of monks, with a no-so-small part of their activities dedicated to agricultural and industrious activities. Their dedication to these secular tasks made them very efficient, which translated into rich and powerful monastic orders throughout the Christian world. As the economic weight of Abbeys developed, they favored the Church over the local lord in the mind of many people. Contrary to the Monastery, an Abbey will generate Religious Works without consuming Parchments, it can be the desired outcome, or a problem for the region. EVENT: The Abbey has a low chance to create a Priory in the region, for free, this chance is much increased with a pious ruler.
