Description
The diya, or blood money is perceived by these men. This is a form of justice where the offended (or family of the deceased) gets money from the offender. That's a manner to settle an issue between 2 parties willing to conclude an issue without relying on bodily punishment, like flogging or stoning to death. It was a relatively common procedure when a noble or wealthy has been found guilty of an offense by a judge (qadi).
