Description

Municipal tower housing bells used to summon militias, announce decrees, and signal civic events. Belfries symbolised local autonomy and communal pride, serving both as watchtowers and as centres of civic life. EVENT: This building will greatly increase Burghers and Nobles frictions, favouring the Burghers. -- The Belfry of Bruges, completed around 1300, is a historical example of such a monument.
